EVENTS IN THE PICTURESQUE VILLAGE OF POLRUAN RUN THROUGHOUT AUGUST, LEADING TO POLRUAN'S OWN REGATTA WEEKEND, NEXT ON AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY 2024.
Set within an historic shipbuilding village that dates back to the fourteenth century, the Polruan Regatta takes place over August Bank Holiday weekend.
We particularly enjoy welcoming and including visiting children and their families in our fabulous three-day celebration.
Not to be confused with its across-the-river counterpart and steeped with over one hundred years of Cornish tradition, all of the events during the Polruan Regatta are organised, marshalled and funded by the Polruan Regatta & Children's Sports Organisation. This is a voluntary organisation whose members give freely of their time and effort, with one singular charitable goal: to raise funds to benefit the interests and welfare of the children of the Parish of Lanteglos-by-Fowey.
The funds raised from this glorious affair enable the organisation to enhance the lives of children in the community with day trips, sporting events and even a visit from Father Christmas himself, amongst many other wonderful things.
